Salvator Mundi is a young 5-year-old gelding trained by the irrepressible Willie Mullins. He didn't quite get it right in the Supreme Novice Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival but took a keen hold early, which didn't help matters. He finished unplaced in the Triumph Hurdle the year before, so maybe Cheltenham is not his thing. Previously, he won two races posting RPR of 146-139, the former a 62-length romp. He is out of an unraced dam who was related to three, two of which won, notably the Alan King-trained L'Unique rated 149, who incidentally won a Listed and Grade 1 hurdles at Aintree. So today's track could potentially be right up Salvator Mundi's street, and he should go well under Paul Townend.
