    Omonia made it past MOL Fehervar from Hungary, winning both legs 1-0 and 2-1, made it past Torpedo Kutaisi also winning both legs, 3-1 and 2-1, and won against Zira as well, winning the first leg here at home no less than 6-0, and losing on the road in Azerbaijan with 1-0. Vikingur only made it to this stage defeating the champions from Andorra, Albania and also Estonia. Lost in the Champions League to modest Shamrock Rovers. Omonia is a rich club with quality foreign players, quite a long trip for Vikingur from Iceland to Cyprus, difference in terms of temperature as well. Vikingur just lost the cup in Iceland 2-0 final with KA Akureyri, and Omonia won all their home games this season, just once the 1-0 win with Mol Fehervar by only 1 goal difference.
