Madrid are no strangers to this competition and have been involved every year since the emergence of a four-team format in 2020. They are also the current holders and have lifted the trophy 13 times - one less than record winners Barcelona.

Mallorca have made the final cut this year by virtue of last season's Copa del Rey final defeat to Athletic Club on penalties. They've appeared in this competition just three times, and this is their first since 2003, having won it back in 1998
