Updates for Competition Rules and Recent Events
We have some updates and specifications for the competition Rules and Conditions:
- 3.17. Using Bet Builder or other similar types of bookmaker features to generate odds for a betting tip is not permitted.
- 3.18. Using promotional odds that are not in the normal selection of the bookmaker for a betting tip is not permitted. Normal selection is considered odds that all users of the selected bookmaker can bet on and have no extra restrictions or terms and conditions attached to them.
- In addition, rule 3.6 was updated considering the previous: 3.6. You can't use accumulators and different types of system bets for your tips. Some bookmakers offer the possibility of placing a single bet for combined picks of one or several sports or other events (e.g. for a football match "Team 1 to score and over 2.5 goals" and for two or more matches "Team 1 to win and Team 2 to win"). These types of odds are permitted as long as they are in the normal odds selection of the bookmaker (e.g. not created with the Bet Builder). The rule of thumb is that if you can place a single bet using the betting slip of your selected bookmaker you can use it for your betting tip.
These rules are created to eliminate certain exceptions, make betting tips more easily understandable, and also simplify the management process. They will become effective immediately.
We would also like to remind all of our tipsters of the following two main rules when it comes to posting betting tips:
- 3.5. You can post up to two betting tips on the same event but the pick has to be different. Also, the odds have to differ by at least 0.50. For example, you can bet on "Team 1 to win" in a football match and also "Team 1 -1 handicap" as long as the odds for the handicap are higher by at least 0.50.
- 3.13. The tipster has to make sure that the odds for the selected bet are exactly the same as they are on the bookmaker page at the time of publishing the betting tip. Odds drop and rise all the time. Therefore, it's important to get the latest odds right before you save your betting tip (refresh the bookmaker page if the odds don't update automatically). All odds have to be written in European format (e.g. 2.05).
Yesterday we blocked user SyndicateB who was also among the leaders of the monthly competition standings for constantly using higher odds than they actually were at the bookmaker to boost the profits from betting tips. These types of malicious infractions will always be met with the harshest punishments to ensure fair play at our competitions. Mistakes where there is no bad intention to gain an advantage over others will not be punished.
Creating a tipster community where fair play is the norm is one of our main goals and we will soon add a feature to betting tips that makes it easy for any tipster to report any betting tip (including his own). Since the volume of tips is growing fast at our site and it becomes harder to regulate them, we urge everyone to report any infractions as soon as they discover them.
